I had a custom ram-horn manifold and downpipe made earlier in the year and it developed a couple of cracks.
It went back to the fabricators who repaired the cracks and also made some braces to take some of the weight of the turbo.

Anyway, the EGT gauge no longer works. At the moment, I have no idea if it's just the probe (which is on one of the runners) or the gauge itself.

For the sake of the £30, would you just buy a new one or take it up with the guy? Bearing in mind he didn't charge for the bracing and also moved the flexi for me free of charge.

If he's not charged you for the whole job, and you think you might use him in future, I'd just sort it myself. Could be a very simple fix, even at £30 it's hardly ridiculous.

You even have to ask??

Could be coincidental failure. Not a good use of goodwill.

True. However it was working when I dropped the car off and the sensor had to be removed for manifold to be removed.

Just take two minutes to go and have a look - maybe the wire to the sender's not been reconnected.

Id personally just buy another sensor, unless its visibly been damaged Id put it down to just one of those things. Not unknown for a working part to fail once its been disturbed, not really anyone's fault. And bigger picture, he never charged for repairs, made up additional brackets to support your turbo and somewhere down the line you may need his help again. Not really worth loosing goodwill for the sake of £30.
