Went to look at Volvo V50 T5 today and V5 showed last owner as the PCC, saw a "service history" (which was a printed sheet that mentioned the car being prepped as CTU.
Is that Counter Terrorism Unit?
Put me off but not quite sure why (although car was boggo spec).

Canteen Training Unit.

But yes, probably Counter Terrorism. Likely to be an old enquiries car or similar, doubt it's been used for anything sexy. Might be a good purchase as will have been serviced regularly, and any bits broken fixed.

Clinical Trials Unit.

Pox doctors, basically. I hope you didn't sit in the seat for too long?

What would enquiries be?
The print out showed a surprising amount of visits for a 2009 car, the bits that worried me were car breaking down in Feb' 13 and NSF damage in 2012, although I couldn't see anything that looked off

Have a poke around it in the usual places.... Any sign of covert blues having been behind the front grill? Or extra radios being mounted in the glove box or similar?

I wouldn't worry too much about the RTA damage. Could have been a normal RTA like anyone else, and would have had been repaired at a decent body shop, possibly even back to Volvo for that.

It could have been an active CTU car, but a lot if that would be sat up on static sites just 'watching'... It may have been driven in anger, but a T5 would take that in its stride...

Cheers.
The headlining on the passnger side pillar was loose, would that be a Police thing?
Mileage was around 50k on an 09 plate so not heavily used, seats looked good as new.
TBH the car is slightly out of my bedget, but was thinking it would be worth stretching to to have such a new one.
However, service light was on and clutch felt a bit light and made me think buying newish doesn't mean I wouldn't have to spend, better off getting an older model or V40 and spending a bit getting it right, with a bit left over for emergencies.
