Lamborghini Gallardo: Time For Tea?

A promo film for the Gallardo, playing to Lamborghini's 'traditional' strengths...

Rather sadly, it seems that Lamborghini has lost its sense of humour somewhat recently. It wouldn't let the latest Gallardo be compared to its rivals earlier this year, and you sense that in, seeking to beat Ferrari, it may have lost just a little of the silliness that made us love Sant'Agata's cars in the first place.

That debate will inevitably run and run, but today's Time For Tea? shows Lamborghini having a bit of a joke on itself (it appears) and playing to the Gallardo's strengths. 'Features Like No Other' is a promotional video for the LP560-4, a moody affair shot in California with lots of arty edits and a pair of drifting Gallardos.

In a Ferrari promo, features like no other would probably be technological stuff like the 458 Speciale's side slip control or even further advanced carbon brakes. For a Lamborghini ad, we get 'phone number collecting set' (of attractive women only, it seems) plus a 'get into all clubs function'. Both are slightly cringe worthy plays on the Gallardo's appearance, but isn't the way Lamborghini's looked a large our original fascination?

We thought this could actually be a parody commercial but it was indeed produced by Lambo. See the making of vid from Lamborghini's official channel for proof, and some additional V10 theatre. We await the Cabrera adverts with interest...

Well I got half way through and decided to post here instead as the flickering replay video thing is giving me a headache. Why can't they just let it play. The odd flicker effect is fine, but doing it continuously it's upsetting my finely tuned brian. ;-)

Sounds like you need a 'Re-map' then! .. with the spelling parameter switched ON wink

Excellent video ! the next time I'm in LA, I need to wake up ultra early and drive some of those roads with hardly anyone around!

Cheers, Dennis!

Based on the videos, which would you buy, this one without engine noise or the recent Jag F Type Coupe with engine noise. No brainer. Sack the producer!!

At first I thought it was an issue with my video card… talk about over egging the pudding. That flickering ruined a good movie… it became almost as repetitive as Go Compare...
