If there's a sub-forum where this is better posted, please move it.

I got caught out by this a couple of weeks ago, and yesterday I saw signs saying it was happening again this Saturday. Junctions 13 - 18, starting at 9:00am. I got held up by about 40 minutes, and when I finally caught up to the load it seemed to be stuck under a motorway bridge. On my way back about 40 minutes later the convoy had pulled into the services and the motorway was flowing normally.

I have to make the same journey again this Saturday, and I'm not sure of my best option. I can think of 4 options:

1. Suck it up
2. Go the same way, but leave earlier
3. Go the same way and try and time it with their rest stop
4. Take a different route

Does anyone know where I can get decent near real time information about the position / status of this convoy?

Thanks

RobinEssex iirc.

Alongside complaints about people jumping off motorway bridges and also big/major accidents that take the police longer than 30 minutes to clear because he gets held up in traffic.
