Under car lighting/glow
Discussion
Hi All,
I'm not starting a max-power thread! LOL !
Last night, I had a long country drive, with absolutely no street lights.
It was peak rush-hour and I guess many other motorist had the same idea, to take the back roads.
With all the glaring lights coming head on, I found it difficult to see the grass verges or brief footpaths every few miles.
Now, I'm not sure if this was due to the lights getting brighter over the years or something I just happened to notice. What I normally do when driving on these types of roads, is to used the passenger side wing-mirror (every so often) to see how far from the edge I actually am.
As I could not see anything, it got me thinking, it would actually be great if I had lights under my car to light (gently) the edge of where I was driving. Not in a boy racer sort of way obviously.
The car in question last night was a 2004 E320 AG estate, so a big car with super head lights and I guess I am also creating glare/dazzle for those cars coming the other way......just me thought for the day!

PS. I'm not old or going blind !! LOL !!

I bought white under car LED bars thinking they'd be hilarious and ironic for when I was picking friends up etc. Not many people got the joke though.
Also very occasionally useful for weird things like that suggested above. It's a bad idea though. I buckled a wheel by leaning out the window to watch them illuminate the snow on a residential street. Saw the kirb coming too late. Braked. Slid.
In the end I wired them to come on with the interior light which was quite a nice feature for when you'd unlock the car with the fob or open the door to get out.

Secretly you just wanted LEDs under your car. Also very occasionally useful for weird things like that suggested above. It's a bad idea though. I buckled a wheel by leaning out the window to watch them illuminate the snow on a residential street. Saw the kirb coming too late. Braked. Slid.

Funny thing is that my toy is a mk2 GTI LOL hahaha !
No seriously, my lights are great, eye sight excellent but I sometimes use the mirror when driving to see how far my back wheels are from the edge or curb!
Interesting idea about the lights underneath the mirrors, as I do have them but they only work when you unlock the car in the dark.
