Cost of Land Rover Defender replacement windscreen?

Mine had a small crack in it, took car in for a service at the LR dealer and they tried to return it to me with the windscreen completely cracked in three new places!

Offered me a 25 percent discount on a replacement screen and want USD 1,200 for it (including fitting)

Is that right?

$1200 for a Defender screen. What's the exchange rate now, 100-1? Jesus they're taking the piss. Defender screens are about the cheapest you can buy in the UK and fitting them isn't exactly taxing. Okay, it might be a bit more if you need a new rubber (more often than not needed one older vehicles as they crack in the corners)and being heated can push the price up a fair bit but $1200! How do I get a green card?

All good and well but as a business you can't rely on one off cheapies on Ebay. There are two different types of heated screen available as well as clear and tinted options. A new rubber can be a pig to fit. Having said all that. $1200, I'm packing right now

Why not try ringing round a few windshield shops (see what I did there, very American )
