So, the stereo on our Vectra B is pretty dire, and I have all the kit to replace it. I have two problems though:

1) How do I make the steering wheel controls still work with an aftermarket head unit?

2)How do I remove the speaker grills/covers, or do I have to take out the whole door card? May do this anyway as the door cards rattle, and I'll stick dynamat in there.

I had a vectra b sri. I removed the stock stereo and fitted an alpine unit. I was able to use the steering controls and the display with adaptor cables bought from eBay, this was 7-8 yearscago and seem to remember it was expensive!

Cheers,

This should be the one, not cheap but worth it in my opinion. Autoleads PC99 X80

Thankyou, will be getting one of those leads, £40 though! Am planning on fitting an Alpine head unit with Bluetooth, so we can have handsfree phone in the car. It'd be handy to be able to change the wheel buttons so they could, for example, answer/hang up the phone, is this possible?

Also, do I have to remove the entire door card to get at the speakers, or can I just remove the grilles?
