Hi

I'm looking to pick up my new car next week which is in Norfolk and I am in Bournemouth so train/coach doesn't really work.

Does anybody recommend a good, cheap transport company or even fancy a road trip themselves? smile

That's not a bad idea although I imagine I would have to leave the car at one of their depots, and the car is in the middle of nowhere.

Which ebay would that be, certainly not in the UK.

Jokers think cars with no T&T are £500 these days "cos of scrap valu"

Even if that was possible, 50 + days insurance + tax most likely + fuel, starting to all add up eh!

Plus the fact the £50 car is in Scotland, you could take the train to go and collect it silly

Nearest station is a 40 minute drive from there and would require 5 trains in total. It's possible but going to be a ballache.

Book a hot air balloon trip that takes you over Norfolk and parachute out when you're passing over your new car.

If you don't mind me asking whats the cost of the purchase and what sort of car are you picking up?

You can rent beaver tail recovery vehicles. Or rent a trailer and a van/car with towbar somewhere near you.

Ask a friend.

I know someone who picks up cars on trade plates and insurance anywhere in the uk and delivers them, think he is known as a vehicle mover, Cost me about £250 to use him once, so dependent on price of the car that could be nothing, or could be a fortune biggrin

Assuming they still do it, National Express used to run coaches between airports so you might get one from Bournemouth to Norwich?

How far is the nearest car rental depot to the seller? Do the deal then have him follow you to it to drop the car?

Thanks all. Driving is about 4.5 hours away. I have had a quote of £230+vat+fuel to use a transport company if drive it or £470+vat to trailered.

The car is a BMW 6 Series convertible and the dealer is literally in the middle of nowhere. I think the train is going to be the best bet as surprisingly I can get a ticket for £23 (a bargain compared to the normal price of £55 just to get to London and shows what a con it is) and then a taxi ride/dealer the other end.

Shame as I don't have the spare time to do it but appears to be a no brainer compared to transport cost.

Well im sure if its a dealer they must have encountered this problem before, surprised they not offered to pick you up from the train station after all you are buying a 6 series BMW from them
