As its friday night and im bored.

Lets say......

You removed your numberplates, front and rear, from your car.

Then swapped them with your neighbours.......

And he did the same with the next neighbour.........and so on.......

How long would it take until the DVLA system was kaput?

How long until you get a letter through your door saying you were driving with no seatbelt on the phone in a bus lane........or not!.?.!............ ( along with another 6 million people.)

Police ANPR useless.

System collapse?

Trick question this.

If you swapped them with your neighbour he does not have his to swap with his neighbour, but only yours.

And on and on and everyone's number plate would end up with their next door neighbour on the side closest to you, but yours would end up in Mongolia.

Guess who has the biggest problem?

I've thought of making a Y reg Citroen XM out of the old plates for my Puma and seeing how long I got away with it. (XM's on an R)

Then I start thinking of possible bkings that might ensue so go off the idea

If you do it, let us know!

Once a few people swap numberplates (as is already the case with bilking etc) it creates reasonable doubt and makes the Police's job much harder.

As soon as the plates don't match the car it's obvious there is an issue - where it gets interesting is when you go on Google / ATrader etc and copy the plates of a similar car.

I'd suggest once it got to around 10% it would be chaotic.
