Where would I stand with this !
Just went and got a pair of wanli snow grip tyres on front of my wifes car today and just been taking it steady and we went round a roundabout and the front washed away twice within 5 mins then I put my foot down to overtake a slow old driver and the tyres just spun and I was in 3rd gear !! Yes the roads are cold dampish and not the best but the near slick tyres we took of had more grip than these sh-t things. I got told they were decent tyres and ive just read reports and everyone has slated them saying they are death traps. Have I got any right in taking these back or am I stuck with these till I either crash or cut my losses frown Seriously disappointed !!!

How cold is it? I think it has probably been to warm for winter tyres in most parts of the uk today. Also are they brand new? give them some time to scrub in.

Give them a few proper heat cycles to settle down, and they will undoubtedly improve.

Your main problem however, is "Wanli".

Well for a start it isn't snowy so they'll probably struggle on dry/wet roads, plus they're by Wanli... what were you expecting? tongue out

Guys buys cheap tyres, expects expensive tyres shocker!
If the front "washed away" then consider slowing down.

I never saw what make they were when buying them just that they were decent snow tyres apparently. They have had a few good runs and might of done 100 miles now but a report ive read says someone did around 10k on them and they never improved ! frown

Drive gently with new tyres, they take time to reach efficiency.

And you were behind me ?? Nope !! I was going slow and couldn't believe how they washed away, and they were suppose to be £180 a pair so not the cheapest and never said I wanted top tyres. If you aint got a decent reply don't bother posting ! As im asking how I stand about taking them back !

Depends how you bought them
Did you ask for some decent tyres
or did you ask for a specific brand?

No. The main problem is expectations. All new tyres are rubbish for the first couple of hundred miles.

The old adage 'buy cheap, buy twice' applies here.

That said, the Wanlis will probably improve with a hundred mile's use. Increase the tyre pressures slightly from the book value and you'll probably be able to feel what they're doing better.

Get over it folks. Wanli are probably the best of the Chinese 'silly name' tyre brands. I'd rather have them over a set of Avons any day.
