Yep. I had a go in a mk3 MR2 and it felt much faster than it actually was. My brothers 205 is also pretty scary at speed. The lower you are, the faster it feels!

Yep low and 50ish feels much faster than 80 leptons sat up high in a 4x4.

Honda CR-Z

amazing little car, feels really lively. then someone on a mountain bike out drags you and you realise it really is just an illusion.

I'd say classic mini on a narrow road, 40 feels like three times the speed. Oh the memories smile

Glad its not just me.

Am I the only one who subconsciously plants my foot on the section of the footwell where the brake would normally be when you're pulling up behind traffic?

My MX-5. Slightly lower than standard. 55mph down B-roads felt scary, as did 60-70 on dual carriageways where truck wheels were at eye-level.

Everyone should have one rather than a 2 tonne diesel monster that feels the same at 90 as 30.

MGTF - Drove one down some roads I was pretty familiar with a few years back and was surprised when I looked at the speedo and saw that I was doing 10-20mph less then I would have been in the Subaru as it felt easily as fast.

So to sum up..

If you want a hugely powerful car then don't go for a 911, RS4, Lambo, scooby, evo etc get a smaller, lower, underpowered car instead.

Sensation of speed without the licence losing numbers?

and on that bombshell we will have to end the show..

Definitely the Midget. With the twitchy and fast steering, poorly located suspension and low ride height they can be mildly terrifying at speeds that would seem quite pedestrian in a modern car.
