Courier work for a few weeks in between jobs?
Discussion
Hi there I am currently between two 'career' jobs and the sitting round on my hoop is killing me and my bank balance.
I have my own car and this caught my eye:

I really would just about do anything for a few weeks just to get me out the house but this seems ideal if you have your own transport. My car is not big but then knowing this I should not pick up or be given the big deliveries.
But my question really is has anyone done this and made a few bucks or is it going to be the usual of sign up hoping for work and then.......................nothing apart from being £25 lighter in the wallet.

I did courier work for about 3 months before getting fed up.
I got paid every week after the first 3 weeks but was putting in £50 diesel every other day so that cost me a lot straight away.
Then the main reason I quit was I didn't make anywhere near minimum wage even though i was promised I was.
£60-£80 a day. £25 a day in fuel, 8-10 hours delivering.
Call it roughly £1 per mile to run your car taking into account everything and it was £1 an hour I was making.
Bearing in mind I even had my fiancée in the csr sorting out parcels/passports to make delivery times shorter for me and allowing me to keep the car running.
Just my experience anyway. There are obviously better ones otherwise no one would do the job
