Getting a new MOT on a car that isn't due until April 2014?

Hi all

I'm selling a car with an MOT until April 2014 but a potential buyer has asked if I would get a fresh MOT done.

I have no problems with this at all as the car is in perfect condition but I wasn't sure if you could get an MOT done this early?

Can anyone confirm the situation as I've seen conflicting reports when I've searched so none the wiser!

Can get an MOT done whenever you want, it'll start ticking from the day it's tested

Yeah, it's no problem, I've done it a few times. Take a deposit from the buyer, and then use that to pay for the MOT. That way if they decide not to go for it they forfeit the deposit and you have a nice new MOT to help with the sale.
