just look at the bonnet gap, you could park a route master between the bonnet and bumper

If I said it's better than I expected, would you think I was a bit mental?

(For the avoidance of doubt, it's poo, but considering the design brief - make a £150k supercar out of a £150 90s Mondeo - it's fairly successful.

Can't argue with those comments tbh - pretty much matches my own viewpoint.

Seems a strange thing to do given that the Cougar is a better looking car than the 458. boxedin

I can feel for someone who wants a Ferrari but hasn't yet got the cash, but seriously, the cars you could buy for £35k that look and drive great are never ending...

E92 M3
GT-R
Some 911's (too many to list)
Evo's

The list goes on and on.

Sounds nice and not bad effort but why?! Just buy a 360.

Quite impressive although not what I'd spend £35k on!

No thanks, I'd rather spend £30k on this replica:

Why is it looked down so much on replica cars? Why are p4, elenor, 356, dino dgt etc.

It is just a bit weird how some replics are lorded and generally modern ones a slated, when the quality of this one is pretty good.

Personally I think any replica - regardless of quality, isn't worth much. Real deal or nothing IMO.

I think it's the difference ones which try to recreate the character of the car, and ones that just try to recreate the looks. No front engined FWD car is ever going to be anything like a Ferrari 458, whereas something like a Chesil Speedster actually has a chance of behaving roughly like the original.

I personally can't see any appeal in a car that looks (roughly) like a Ferrari and drives like a Mondeo. In fact I wouldn't even use the word for this sort of car, it's a "like alike" not a "replica", IMO.

I wouldn't buy one only because not my thing, but i can see why people do buy them.
