Which cars on PH do you think are most "marmite"? i.e. people who "get" them really love them and people who don't "get" them never will?

Can I register a vote for the humble Renault Modus? Owners swear by them* Non-owners say they are all sh*te!

Well there is one obvious little japanese sportscar.

I'll go for the Nissan GTR though.

Porsche 911.

It's still rear engined in 2013.

Was air-cooled until the late 90's.

The handling has been mostly treacherous for 50 years.

Still looks like a VW Beetle.

I have absolutely no idea why anyone would ever want one.

Yet so many people claim to love them.

I don't get it at all.

I'll nominate all TVRs. Stupid plastic cars that smell of canoes and break down multiple times a day.

Generation 1 is nicer than generation 2, which is nicer than generation 3 (to look at)

Just lookup any thread about the corvette that's outside of the corvette sub forum.

It's funny that as car enthusiasts we can deride interesting cars so easily. It is almost as if we would rather everyone just drove a focus.

I was actually about to have a go at you for slating TVRs but thought I'd check your profile first.

Glad I did now! Very nice Tamora too.

But yes TVRs are polarising. Plenty of people don't see the point in having fun!

Badge snobs don't like them. People with better things to worry about tend to smile whenever they see one.

I like the look of some TVRs and realise they are often very quick but I have less than zero desire to own one; the implication that if you're a proper enthusiast you should love them, really annoys me.

Flaky, unreliable, zero safety aids. No thanks.

I was going to say:

LR Defender
Original Mini
VW Golf
MX5
Audis
Diesels
Air-cooled VWs
Anything French!
