Anyone replaced rear pads on a c4 picasso with electric

Handbrake!!!!!!
My neighbour has asked me to replace rear pads on his c4 Picasso with electronic handbrake and with even 5 years in the trade never done a set. So before I do the job, do the callipers need to be disabled like the vw system before I wind back the calliper.
Got the equipment to do well hopefully just rather ask the knowledgeable members on here before I do the job looked on various places cant really find an answer.
