Just been looking on ebay, and found this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E34-520I-2821-MILES-...

Aside from the fact it hasn't (apparently) done many miles, although how it even racked those up if it has never been registered is debatable, it has a really weird spec! Climate control, auto dim mirror and OBC, yet no radio or armrests!

Any others?

Probably a pre-production example or similar which would explain the unusual spec and lack of badges, etc.

Given that it was donated would back that up.

Agree, very unusual, does look to have never been on the road going by the underside photos. As you say though, strange its never been registered and yet its done those miles, maybe used on a private estate somewhere?

If you bought and registered this, would it be on a 63-plate?

In answer to your question though, I don't know. Probably age related, so an E (if it is a pre production one) or F plate

ETA beaten to it!

Apparently it was built in 1992, so not a pre production. As such it has the M50 engine.

ETA of course I originally completely missed the picture of the engine! duuhhh!

Given that the screen has some dead pixels, could it be 282.1 miles? That would be fairly reasonable for delivery/unregistered demo miles.

Nah, definitely 2821, the trip is the only one with a decimal.

Don't think I can be put on the road, it would not meet emission rules.
