I am miffed to find out the Koni FSD Shocks that failed after 2 years on my Alpina B10 V8 will not be replaced under warranty.
The previous owner put them on so Koni say the warranty is only for him.

Just seems wrong to me.

Look up the previous owners name on the V5.

Ring them and then complain, make warranty claim.

Tell them "Oh I moved since I filled out the warranty form can you get the replacements sent "insert your address here".

Jobs a guddun'.

Previous owner is a kind chap who phoned Koni (after Koni told me that he could contact them) but alas Koni changed their mind and won't replace their shoddy shocks.

Oh thats a shame, nice of the previous guy to try for you too. Faith in the human race restored a bit.

That's a shame. Koni were incredibly helpful when I needed some shocks built. They even did a limited production run for me on an obsolete product.

I only got this assistance when I spoke to Koni themselves however rather than Koni (UK) so it could be worth speaking to head office.

Cheers- I'll give that a go.
Shocks should last longer than 10000 miles!

Appalling. I replaced my Koni inserts on the Lancer with some specially made ones from GAZ Shocks in Basildon. Cost less than £150 for two, years warranty and excellent service, if that's any help.

^ I ordered a full set of matched SPAX dampers for my track car - when I got them I found quickly that they were way over damped (2nd or 3rd setting from softest was max for best handling) so after some discussions with spax that went nowhere I was already disappointed in both design and spec but also the customer service.

When the rears failed after a couple of years I went back to SPAX to order a replacement set but requested less damping - it would have been a custom build and a lot of money so I ordered replacements from Gaz and requested a similar softer start point which they had no issues providing at no extra cost. Not only did they had a better more usable range of adjustment (sweet spot around the middle adjustment position) but have been faultless since.......

I'm going back for the fronts from them when the fronts start leaking - cannot recommend Gaz enough.
