So driving to work this morning, dashcam running as usual when the poor chap in the clio in front is clipped by the HGV trying to merge in!

Feel sorry for both, obvious that the HGV driver just didn't see the clio.

Anyway, point being, remember HGV's can't see you down there in your P&J!!

works for me smile
Doesnt look like it was in the blindspot when it was ahead.
The HGV driver should have allowed for merge in turn
The Clio was visible enough when the HGV pulled in afterwards

I can't watch it on an Android tablet. It says the user hasn't enabled it for viewing on phones and I need to start the PC up...

Lorry driver would seem to be 100% to blame to me. Clio did not do anything wrong. Link works fine for me.

absolutely, and the clio driver was rather happy for my dashcam footage, but I don't think the HGV driver deliberately hit him, so therefore obviously didn't see him!

Trucks should be banned from the road or restricted to weekend driving and only on motorways and alternative leap years.
Truckers should also be raped to see how they like it plus piss from a coke bottle poured over their heads. (At the same time)

Total menace. rage

Good on your for stopping and offering the video. Sadly its one of those you can see coming from a mile off.

Clio was not to blame at all, wagon driver was no doubt looking ahead rather than checking his mirrors and was lucky it was a car he hit and not a motorcycle.

Samsung Galaxy Tab, it's either doing satnav duties or I leave it recording, used to use phone before that, decent quality dashcams cost alot of money, and the advantage of using a phone/tablet is that if I do something wrong then it's not obvious it's on video! smile

Fair play to both of them that they went immediately onto the hard shoulder.

Cant count the number of times I've seen two lanes of the motorway closed because someone Vauxhall Corsa has a small scratch on the rear bumper. Sitting there in the 3rd lane sorting out insurance infomad Boils my Wee!

its the OPs fault - he flashed the lorry to let him in, and lorry crunched clio. If you hadn't flashed him, he wouldn't have assumed it was safe to pull into your lane.

This is something that is strongly in my mind whilst driving ever since watching the Fifth gear bit on it some years ago, although it is difficult in a situation like the OPs to stay out the blind spot.

st, poor little Clio.

I know the view is restricted from those big buggers, I hate being around them, it never ceases to amaze me what cyclists do in their presence.

Can't see anything the clio did wrong to be honest, wrong place, wrong time, and an oops moment from a lorry driver, we all have them, the lorries just do more damage.
