Hey there, i'm selling my 2005 Astra 1.4i due to constant problems, (Should never have bought a vauxhall)

I'm going to be buying a Ford Fiesta MK7 (New shape) 2008/2009 Zetec S 1.6 (Hopefully one that looks like this: http://fiestamk7.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/...

Just wondering if this will be slower / faster than the astra as one thing i favoured about my astra was the good bit of acceleration it had, and it was quite fast which i liked!

Also wondering if these are known to have electrical failures aswell, as i have had a ridiculous amount of problems with this astra, including the horn not working, engine light coming on and car not accelerating properly, and more!.

Any help appreciated

I am sure the Fiesta will be quicker than your astra, suprised you think a 1.4 astra is "quite fast".

~120bhp vs probably 90bhp tops. Fiesta probably weighs similar to the Astra, but I'd imagine it'd be quicker. One thing I do know, is that it will handle much better!

I used to own a vauxhall corsa 998 cc 2002 though, haha , so that's probably why. The astra does accelerate quite fast though.

I've got a mk7 zs and it's a cracking wee car. Decent handling and at 120 bhp per ton it's not too slow either

Good choice on the Fiesta, they're really good cars. I used to get 47mpg from mine if that's of any concern to you!

I had a 2004 Astra 1.4 and it was unbelievably slow, the Fiesta will feel considerably quicker. My astra was extremely reliable though.

It's got 118bhp, I'd very surprised if a MK7 Fiesta weighs less than a ton!

Wow, genuinely shocked by that! Parkers list them as 1045KG, they feel a lot heavier than that!

Cracking little car. Had mine 2 years and it's given me no trouble whatsoever. It handles well and feels quick due to its light(ish) weight and is very cheap to run; my average mpg since ownership is 41mpg (calculated).
