Depends of what the definition of a high-sider actually is.Is it a 9ft van or is it a 13ft truck, one thing for certain though, only a complete tool would take a box van over a high bridge in 90mph winds, then go and stand near it when it looks like it`s going over!

What an f-tard. Massive queue of traffic behind the numbnutted fool who will have been massively inconvenienced by his stupidity.

Hopefully he'll get a suitable punishment in court.

Considering the van driver had to drive under 9 in total overhead gantries all saying 'Bridge closed to all except cars',
the risk involved to the Fire Brigade in recovering the van and potential risk to other drivers then I would have thought that a
careless driving charge is him getting off lightly.
He shut a main transport route for 3 hours through pure stupidity.
I use the Forth Bridge daily and a clamp down is well over-due.

In addition to any criminal charges he should be billed for all incidental costs as well as being fully liable to compensation claims from the hundreds/thousands of people he caused inconvenience to, through his base stupidity.
