Amateur mechanic Jacek Mazur, 48, made his own replica McLaren F1...Mr Mazur, from Zabrze, Poland, spent eight years building the replica car, which can hit speeds of up to 200mph.

If it cost him £20k to build how is the headline "builds himself a £5million McLaren F1 supercar" appropriate scratchchin

Fair play, that's a cracking effort for a rep.

That doesn't look too bad, but you'd be a little bit worried at how well it's welded together when you hit a bump at 200mph!

At the risk of the whoosh parrot, I'm assuming it's because he's built a replica of a £5m McLaren F1.

Not too bad if that's the worst thing you can say about it! Well done him.

All home made: Mr Mazur's replica collection includes a yellow Lamborghini Countach, a Pontiac Fiero, a black Lamborghini Countach and a red Lamborghini Countach
Why would anyone make a replica Fiero hehe

Mclaren doesn't look too bad although the front track looks a bit narrow for the body work.

Wow, more accurate reporting!

Text says "audi engine" photo title says BMW V12 (and shows said engine). And it ain't going to do 200mph lets be honest now is it!

Excellent effort, makes a nice change from all those hyper-Chav Fezza/MR2 abominations

I clicked on the article ready for a good old laugh at some tragic project, but have to say that's a damn fine effort

Far from the worst replica I've seen. Certainly better than the huge fire I'd create trying to do that.

It's flattering, admittedly, that he went to the extent of all this time and money to build a copy of that iconic car. But I can't help but think why not create something unique with all these skills? He clearly has talent.

Looks good, much better effort than his Countach creations, they look awful!

Fair play. I think its safe to say that he has pistons in his head. Good work. Cant say I'd ever be in the market for one of these, but I'd love to have a go of one.

A most worthwhile effort - I applaud his skill and stamina to produce a rather decent replica smile
