I'm sure this has been asked a few times. My batterery is about to die. When i change it over I'm going to need the code to bring the radio back to life. Is there a way to find out what it is before i disconnect it.
And yes I know its better not to lose the number in the first place.

Regards

What car is it? You can get most codes straight from the net, but you'll need to take the radio out to read the number on the sticker

Failing that, a lot of dealers used to use the last 4 digits of the VIN - might be worth a try.

If you're nice to your local dealer/service dept. they can normally give you the code for free.

You could get one of these

Bit of a waste for one use though

Thanks for the replies, do like the jumper lead. Thou have a crack at being nice to a main dealer. In sunny wales i'm sure it will work well.

There will be a serial number on the casing. It will be M followed by 6 numbers. If you post the serial number, I can give you the code.

That is bloody expensive for what is just a way to connect a slave battery to the loom. You would be cheaper and just as effective using a pair of jump leads attached to the battery clamps.
