E-Type Lightweight 'Recreated': Time For Tea?
A Petrolicious film on the 'Jagwa' we would all want to race

As with most car fascinations, Jason's began as an impressionable young adult at university. Apparently a lecturer had a passion for Jaguar that found its way to his teaching of mechanical engineering and to Jason's affections also. He has owned this E-Type since the mid-70s.
The car has been evolving ever since, with Chris now frankly admitting the car has to get faster as he becomes a slower driver. He reckons he's about 100hp down on the V8 muscle at 320hp, a problem he's overcoming with a 380hp replacement engine.
This video is filmed at Willow Springs, where the E-Type looks and sounds simply fabulous, all the more so for its dings and scrapes earned through competition. Who doesn't love historic motorsport?

It is a fixed head coupe that was pulled off the road and lovingly built into a race car - don't get me wrong I appreciate what he has done but I think it should not be labelled as a lightweight replica.
It is covered in parts that are modern and would not be found on an appendix K historic car.
It is not my intention to take away from the car he has built and is clearly very passionate about, but I do not agree with false labelling of cars.
A gorgeous car none the less i remember looking at a pristine silver E-type at a classic and american car show not long ago and the gorgeous lines of the E-type were such a stark contrast to the V8 muscle nearby.

It still looks to be a very well built race car and from a handling point of view (if you aren't worried about originality) im sure it's pretty well set up.

Fine project, fine race car, most e types are special but i don smile at the 150k plus offerings, Mr Lyons what did you create - a fine investment from just over a two grand car including purchase tax.

Thats a superb job, even his modifications are tastefull, not sure we would get away with the side exhausts as could see any silencing, they looked a straight through system.
Interested to know the cost/selling price of that car as it stands in the video.
Makes my standard one look a touch tame and period.
