What was the make and model of a car used in this TV drama ? The sloping back was reminiscent of an Aston but seemed to drop away too steeply. The badge on the front grill resembled a BMW badge but the car looked more Italian.

Didn't see this - but the car abandoned by Lucan when he disappeared was a Ford Corsair as far as I remember?

The coupe in the drama is a BMW 1600 GT. They were built in 1967.
When the Glas microcar company was taken over by BMW they simply took the Glas 1300 GT, fitted the BMW 1600 engine and rear suspension and badged as a BMW. I believe very few survive.

Yes it was a blue Ford Corsair at Newhaven I think ?

But whether Lucan abandoned it or some one else did for him ?

Like the kid in the orthopedic shoes - I stand corrected.

Haven't seen part 2 yet - but the 300SE 6.3 in part 1 was rather lovely.

On an unrelated but slightly relevant note, did anyone watch the 2 parter on the Great Train Robbery?

In the first part when they vacate the farmhouse what's the rather sleek looking but 4 door thing they drove off in. Reminded me a bit of the 4 door Porsche in concept?

I think it's a Bristol 405.

Definitely a 405. Rather lovely, too.
