OK, we are going to visit the OH's family for Christmas. The route is as above. Do we have any traffic predictions? I can't decide whether to leave at about 7:30 on Christmas eve (PM) so we can go for a drink when we get there or should we leave it until about 9:30 Christmas morning?
When do the roads generally quieten down on Christmas eve?

A merry Christmas to all on PH! smile

Last year i did the CW top half of M25 on Xmas day (j19 to 30). Was very light traffic, even with a bit of fog, did that stretch in very good time.

Christmas day is always a lottery on the roads, at that time you should be OK

Last year I headed up the M4 it was busy @ 11 , I was doing 95-110 leptons and I wasn't the fastest by a long way, was quite heavy but steady traffic

Did Reading to Harlow last Xmas eve - left at 4pm after work came off the M11 just after 5.30 without breaking my neck. I'll be doing the same on Tuesday. You'll miss the busy bit North of St Albans and out towards Lakeside.
