Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone has first hand experience of these tyres? If so, what are the like it terms of handling in the wet and dry?

I have read some pretty good reviews on them (Auto Express, TyreReviews.co.uk, etc) but just wanted some reassurance with actual real world experience/tests?

Also, I read one comment that the sidewalls are very soft :s

Oh and its for a mk4 Golf TDi. 205/55/16 and speed ratings I've been advised of are either V or W.

Thanks in advance smile

I have them all round on my Accord. They're a good all rounded I'd say, not outstanding in any area but not bad in any area either. I don't think the side walls are too soft and they appear to hang on well enough.

Wear appears to be pretty reasonable as well.

They're not cheap in my fitment size though, 225/50/17 V98.

Many thanks for the input.

Assuming the Uniroyals are better than the Goodyears?

I've had some. Yes, the sidewalls are soft but I had no issues with grip or lack of it.

More grip than I was expecting from an 'efficient' tyre.

Heard they're quite poor on the 350z, which probably weighs considerably more than the golf. I would opt for F1 Asymmetrics if in budget.

To be fair I'd have thought a tyre designed for efficiency (low rolling resistance) wouldn't be great on something like a 350Z.

I put a full set on about 4 months ago. I accidentally put them to the test on a greasy right hander I was going too fast for.

Needless to say the wet grip is great. They're quite soft though so you might roll ever so slightly more, but that makes them more comfortable.

Had them fitted to my A3 a few weeks ago. Softer than the Continental Contact Sport 5's they replaced, wet performance is very good, no idea in terms of longevity though, I'm assuming not as long as the 15k I put on the Continentals.

Have a set on the Touareg. Quietest tyres I've ever experienced. Literally no tyre noise at all. I'll be getting another set when the time comes.

agree with the all above. They seem to be soft sidewalls and in my opinion don't give a lot of sporty feedback. But they are extremely quiet and I suppose are fuel-efficient. I can't comment on outright grip in comparison to other tyres. In other words, they do what they are meant to do, and are probably more suited to a barge than a sports car.
