What car have you least enjoyed driving in windy conditions?

I remember pulling over on the motorway once to check I wasn't suffering from a puncture - my Mk1 MX5 was VERY susceptible to crosswinds.

Is heavier better in this sort of weather for a car ... or is it all about the shape of the car?

Landrover 110 didn't like crosswinds, neither did the Renault Kangoo. Slab sides and high frontal profile are bad in the wind.

The OH and I were planning to take her Yaris down to the south west tomorrow. I think we'll go in my car instead, the Yaris is terrifying in strong winds on a motorway!

I seem to remember an Audi A2 being much the same.

Neither the Renault Captur or Nissan Juke I've had as hire cars were all that good in the wind...

That sounds terrifying! Think I'd have been cleaning up after more than just the horses...

Ford Sierra, good for going onto the wind but hopeless in a cross wind.

The wife used to have a 2CV - needed a crate of bricks in the boot to give it a bit of stability.

I did exactly this last weekend, twice! Once on the way to Norfolk from Wales, and once on the way back. So I agree on the mx5. Also the Land Rover, I think it feels worse than it is though due to the soft suspension.

I took my VW T25 Hightop camper out for a run yesterday. The old girl likes to blow out the cobwebs every now and again!

Felt okay in most places except on top of the downs on the Isle of Wight. Needed to keep a close eye on the road position....

An empty LDV Convoy Luton van is the scariest thing I've ever driven in wind. Horrible things on a windy day, I'd hate to be out in anything big that wasn't fully loaded today.

2004-2009 gen Fiat Panda - light, yet relatively tall and built like a box. That thing got blown all over the place.
