Glad to see a post that isn't trying to blame negligence for once.

In a situation like this who pays for the damage? The car insurance or the owner/insurer of the scaffolding?

The thought of those men in her underwear is really not nice. No idea as of yet who pays. Assume it will be scaffolding company but i will contact my insurance company provide scaffolding company details and they can sort it.

If course it's negligence.
The scaffolding should have been secured safely.
(See below)

But, all being well the scaffolders will be insured and the OP's car will be repaired or replaced.

Whether the scaffolders insurance take a closer look at how well the scaffolding was secured and how strong the wind was is a different matter.
It's possible it was correctly secured but the wind was too strong.
But, that's between the builders and thier insurers.

Weather was predicted. If it was not secure enough, they should have improved it.

Bad weather is not an act of god, and I would argue strongly that if other scaffolding holds up so should this one.

There's some silliness here.

The firemen were all on the scaffolding in his wife's underwear - that's why it came down

Who mentioned professional negligee?
As I understand the situation, your wife came out in her underwear whilst 5 firemen were in her underwear dealing with a collapsed erection.

Cheers chaps you have made me smile. Been to look at car. New bonnet and wing is probably all that is required. At the end of the day a few hours earlier could have killed one of my children.

And no i will not post any pictures of my wife or firemen in underwear.

Scaffold was for the new roof. Roof done just scaffold has yet to be taken down. It is partly down now !!

BMW coming Friday to do estimate. All fairly painless really. I have kept my car 100 % dent free for years and now i have the mother all all dents.
