Do Americans have MOT's?

Depends on the state...

Full safety inspection every year in Texas, not even an emissions test where I lived in Indiana.

In Canada, the only time you have to get a vehicle properly checked over its for its vehicle emmisions test which is only necessary if you live in a city, or if you sell the car to someone in a diferent province, or if the police look at your car and decide it needs to be checked out.
Which is why, if you guy to any ski resort in Canada packed to the rafters with broke travellers and Australians, you will find cars that should have been scrapped 40 years ago, somehow still plodding along, prolonging their painful and miserable experience only buy the most absolutely necessary repairs.

I quite often visit South Carolina. According to wiki, there are no inspections in SC at all.
This kind of makes sense, as when travelling down the interstate there are numerous bits of shredded tyres and also the state of some of the vehicles is scary. (I have seen thread bare tyres on a couple of motors, smashed lights, cracked windscreens). Not sure what the local BiB can do about it though?

Got to be one of the best shows on the Internet.
100% agree. The whole motortrend channel, just lives off what they do.
Just have to look at the view numbers.
That pickup is well over a million now, I just listen to that thing, then hit the classifieds to see how I can make something similar.
I hope they do make it to the uk.
