My (unrealistic) 2014 Car New Year resolutions:

1. Sort out the '67 Elan Plus 2 for a rally in Spring;

2. E9 3.0 CSi: MUST HAVE ONE OF THESE; and

3. Rear engine formula junior project car: MUST FIND ONE.

Mine is to do the research and work out if a Merc G wagen is a realistic buy or not

Wondering whether to sell my escort cosworth and get a 355 spider, I have come across a 96 spider with 7k miles and it's exceptional.

It's whether I can sell the escort?? (Live with myself, the car will sell itself it's mint) People's thoughts?

Wideband AFR sensors and gauge.

Probably a respray on the rear bumper after some asshole scraped it coming out of a parking space.

Hopefully the current mods will not overpower the rears and i won't need:
Weld racing 15x10 rear wheels and a set of 275 width drag radials.

Other than that not much other than service items (hopefully).

How relatively hard to replace is the Escort compared to getting a different 355?

My guess is that you can get a 355 any time; they're not going to disappear any time soon.

Finish the bodywork on the Mini, get it an MOT, get it sold, get rid of the Hornet as well. Then it will be decision time. Do I buy myself something like a 335i if I get enough money together, or, do I get myself something a little more modest and buy the missus a decent people carrier to replace the Zafira we have currently?? I know which I'd rather, but one has to consider the wider picture occasionally.

In no particular order.

1)Sort front bumper prang. (My fault careless)
2)Intermittent ABS fault (suspect wiring or speed sensor)
3)Drivers seat refurb (seat flat and bolster worn)
4)Heater intermittent (a good flush may do it see 6)
5)O/S front fog (bulb or earth I expect maybe related to 1)
6)A bloody good service and change all fluids (the cars has good history so peace of mind that everyting is covered)
7)Maybe treat her 2 some front shocks (rears done a month ago)

Elise is on the mend.
Treat it to a hardtop. Looks much better than the soft top. Possibly put a personal plate on it.
New exhaust to annoy the neighbours.

Complete the lancia resto. Try not to go bankrupt in the process.

Sell the mgf, or put flared arches on it. Do something with it.

Contemplate selling the merc again. Still hanker for a 500e w124 or e34 m5. Dont know why but i feel i need a big early 90s supersaloon. Just like most people on here, always thinking about the next car...

So you sell two of your things to get the missus a better utility vehicle?
I can see progress on the mini being very slow (as you're obviously a perfectionist) and the hornet being optimistically priced?

I am a bit of perfectionist and the Mini will be done to the best of my ability, the Hornet can fk off. I no longer have time or the space to sort this st properly. I haven't driven either in years, They hold no real interest to me anymore, I'm (and my parents who have them on their drive) fed up with the sight of them. Misunderstand me not, there's no pressure from SWMBO to replace her car, she's happy with it, but to me it's a ticking time bomb. Obviously I would like a nice car, I wouldn't be on here other wise, but I really want to reduce myself down to two 'decent' cars so I can quash the worry of having so many cars.
