Happy f***ing Christmas, predictions on what the damage is..
Discussion
Went out last night, and a puddle I couldnt avoid due to oncoming traffic was actually a rather large pothole.
Front NS on the 6 series. Now got a metalic rubbing sound, made worse by turning the wheel. Alloy and tyre are fine as far as I can see. Suspension looks fine and car drives ok. No warning lights, pressure of tyre fine.
Cant for the life of me see what it is, so the nice man from BMW assist is coming to look at it.
Could it be the metal shield behind the disk has become dislodged?

Someone's dropped their phone in there too.
Looks like its been there for a while, haven't seen one of those phones for years.
Funnily enough, my newer phone died last week when I dropped it in a puddle, so I had to revert to this one. Ironically the battery life is better, it's smaller, lighter, and it's better at making calls!

Make sure you take pics of the pothole and all the damage - I've had ruined tyres and alloys before and used that evidence for the council to pay up and I fix the bloody hole before someone else gets unlucky
That pothole has only been there for a few days since the flooding, so you will be lucky to get anywhere with the council I would have thought. Especially as it has been over christmas. TheDoggingFather said:
When it was under water?
I was always taught to avoid as many puddles as possible due to the above happening. I would have gone towards the kerb to avoid it. Not helpful to the OP, just wondering if it's the OS wheel he's damaged due to avoiding a large vehicle?
It sucks anyway, good luck getting anything from the council
