Kinell, bet that caused a brown trowser moment, perhaps the Honda driver will look properly next time. Truck driver did well to push him off the carriageway.

Of course. It was completely unreasonable for the truck driver to back off a little.

God forbid.

Could have easily been avoided by the truck lifting off a little. Stupidity as often seen with dashcams fitted "because I had priority". Idiot.

If the truck driver saw it and did nothing surely it's driving without due care? If you see an accident about to happen and you can avoid it you should.
If both were in blind spots 50:50?

You see those little squares that are painted in white on the road? They look very similar to these

What those mean is "give way" it means you have to give way to other traffic, as it is their right of way, and you're giving them their right of way.

Joining the motorway. When you join the motorway you will normally approach it from a road on the left (a slip road) or from an adjoining motorway. You should

give priority to traffic already on the motorway
check the traffic on the motorway and match your speed to fit safely into the traffic flow in the left-hand lane
not cross solid white lines that separate lanes or use the hard shoulder
stay on the slip road if it continues as an extra lane on the motorway
remain in the left-hand lane long enough to adjust to the speed of traffic before considering overtaking.
Unreasonable? Not at all, it his right of way and he shouldn't have to cater for a fking mong that can't join the motorway, and you shouldn't be trying to defend a mong for their stupidty give them an "aw bless them, it's not their fault" no, it is 100% their fking fault, why are we trying to protect bellends and force blame of their fkwittery on to other people.

The car was travelling faster than the lorry, and then slowed down just before it went to join the lane. Muppetry of the highest order.

If it had continued travelling at its original speed (or accelerating) the manoeuvre would have been fine.

Could also have been avoided by the Honda driver not steering his car into a lorry. Just because someone is discourteous to you, doesn't mean it makes sense to crash into them.

They are rectangles not squares, and there are no 'give way' markings on a motorway slip road.

The car was very likely in the blind spot. Good recovery and reaction by the lorry driver.

No, Far better for the lorry to maintain his speed, there could well have been cars or another lorry following him and that could have caused lots of slowdowns, if the Honda had also braked then you have the situation of the lorry slowing even more and in the worst case stopping. Major risk that people behind could hit the slowed or stopped traffic.

Far better for the car to ignore the lines or actually turn his head to see about his bubble and merge into predictably flowing traffic.

Entirely the fault of the Honda driver, he is joining the motorway and should match and merge.
