Van auctions - VW T4/5 ???

After a bit of advice really...

I'm after a tidy VW T4/5 Transporter to convert into a day van for the family.

I've got zero experience of auctions, and wondered whether it would be worth my while finding one, and in particular, is there a way of knowing whether the vehicles I want are going to be available?

All advice welcome, not having much luck on ebay/autotrader/ph.

Budget is £5k inc vat.

I don't think that's out of the way for a clean T4. Pushing it for the T5 though.

BCA Measham used to auction lots of VW vans.

doubtful you'll get a reasonable T5 for £5k, but they do pop up occasionally. You ought to get a reasonably sorted T4 for that though, just don't expect low mileage! Buy on condition and not age /mileage. If you buy right you'll get your money back when you come to sell.

Yep. Friend bought an ex AA t4 at bca a few years ago for £3.5k did it up, used it for 3 years and sold it for £7.5k!!!
