So I need to get rid of my wife's car as we are moving abroad in a week and it's simply not sold through the usual channels (PH advert, Ebay, Autotrader).

Possibly I was asking too much, possibly the wrong time of year, possibly too specialized a vehicle (Abarth 500).

Anyway, the best quote from the various online sites was only £800 less than the current asking price, so not too shabby. But, I am fully expecting to have that knocked to the floor during the process of inspection and final offer.

So... what should I look out for, how should I handle it, what should I say / avoid saying? How best to keep that offer high?

Car is in excellent condition, apart from 2 scuffed alloys from a curb, I'm expecting to get knocked down on this. What else will they pick at?

Cheers

Why not get the alloys sorted for the £80-100 it'll cost (for a quick fix job as your selling) and then put it through the normal car buyers (WBAC, We want any car ETC.)

If the various online sites are £800 less than the current asking price, why not advertise it at £500 less then the current advertising price? State it needs to go in <1 week, pay for an ebay classifieds (no ebay bid with reserve rubbish) AT and see what happens?
