http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TUNING-CHIP-Ford-Galaxy-...

apparently by connecting two wires to the MAF sensor that connect to this bit of circuit board and a random silicone chip you can have massive performance increase?!

fk right off, this is blatant fraud, yet there is no option on ebay to report a blatantly fraudulent listing?! banghead

Lol, what a shame there's no picture of the underside of that 'circuit board' - where we would see the two wires strangely not connected to the 'chip' in any way...

It obviously just shorts out one of the sensors to fool the engine into overfuelling or overboosting I guess?

The "Chip" doesn't do anything. It's just some random old salvaged IC, a bit of perf board, a plastic box and a short length of bell wire. Attaching it to you maf will do precisely nothing. However, the scam will make the seller perhaps £7.50 per item sold, so they just sell as many as possible and the vast majority of idiots that buy it fall for the good old placebo effect.........

Yes fraud it is but I think anyone stupid enough to actually buy one deserve so loose their money!

It's got to rank up along side getting into a bet with a 3.141key!

Hmm, an active electronic circuit requires at bare minimum, a power supply and the connection that it does things to. So needs three wires or more.

Two wires...

Maybe 80% of people will feel an improvement due to the placebo effect. Let's say that's ambitious and 50% of them get returned (remember, a bunch of people will think it's pants but not bother returning it because it's £10-£15). He's still quids in.

Found his neutral & negative feedback more interesting. One comment about "resistance de 4,7khom wink" & another saying "Resistor under fake chip".
