Help - suggestions greatly appreciated as stuck !

Enjoyed my Allroad A6 of 2005 vintage, but she needs to go, and looking for replacement.

Budget 18-25k, must be 4x4, estate, lowish miles, max 2-3 years, and good brand. Allroad A6 is ideal, but just too expensive for me. Looked at the A6 Quattro Avant....but just so low off the ground...ground clearance needs to be sufficient for kerbs, and diving off narrow lanes for passing Vehicles...

Thoughts ?

Last 10 cars have all been BMW, Audi, Merc...but in order of quality, Audi wins hands down.

Have a look here, but with newer choices: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I'd look at the newer Outbacks.

Octavia/Superb?

Pretty sure they come in 4x4 flavour

Other than that something like the Volvo XC60/XC70

Will take a look at Suburu, But Volvo....bad experience with a 18 month big engine S80 and awful response after major engine fault.

I am big guy, so needs to be....big !

R350 - interesting. Yes, it is the jacked up aspect that is important. I even was pondering getting 17 inch wheels and 'fat' tyres on an Audi A6 Avant to get more ground clearance.

Not easy.

Why don't you go the whole hog and consider a rear 4x4?

Toureg, disco, ml 320cdi, X5?

Love the previous Outback - shame current one is so ugly.

Maybe Mazda CX-5?

Out of interest, why does a 2005 car 'need to go' ?
