Ditch spare wheel?
Discussion
Got a full size spare (option), since fitting I've noticed the difference. Only slight, but there. Handling, Mpg, acceleration. Question for the forum, do I leave the wheel at home for my commute, or keep it? I do have sealant, an electric pump and some gizmos that allegedly fix punctures. Cheers all.

Keep it. You can't tyre weld shreds of rubber. A puncture is often a recovery truck job now because of this sudden, ridiculous shift towards cans of glue.
Yes, been thinking about this too! But it feels like a huge mass for a just in case scenario. First world problems eh?! Cheers.Northernchimp said:

Few days before crimbo no spare and not on runflats anymore, ran over something at 75 on the motorway and shredded both ns tyres Cans of glue for the last decade as only option in my daily car - never used it. The barge shed has a full sized spare, last time I got a puncture was in that & I couldn't be arsed changing the wheel on the side of the road so stuck a can of gunk in drove to the next garage topped the pressure up and continued happily home.

1200kg Dacia Duster. In theory the 25 or so kg shouldn't notice but it's enough to lower the back and raise the front a bit!!! A real WTF moment when bolted up.
That's doesn't sound very good. I've been thinking if one of these for work. I carry more than 25kg. If a spare wheel makes that much difference what's it like 4 up with suitcases etc etc

king expensive winter Michelin). Spare wheel saved my Christmas as it meant I could still go about my festive business (albeit at 50mph)Pesty said:

Oh don't let that put you off, it just moved the headlight aim a smidge, enough to notice on the brick wall where I park. I'm picky like that. It carries 4/5 people easily, just adjust the light aim a bit. All the same, can't make up my mind.. No spare on the bike either! Thanks for all the replies so far.If a spare wheel makes that much difference what's it like 4 up with suitcases etc etc
