My MG seems to have a problem, screen is always steamed up. Got a big bag of descant gel on the dash over night.
Wipe it clean and it beads up like it's been waxed. Wiping just doesn't work. Cleaned with glass cleaner, methalated spirit and coca cola, (apparently it works). Nothing seems to solve it. Was suggested it may be the roof treatment that causes it. Driving me mad, just have to wait for it to evaporate with demister.

Any other suggestions?

agree with this, most likely heater matrix-check coolant level

I believe it's some kind of valeting spray. My S-type has exactly the same gunk on the rear screen which I cannot shift.

Damp interior almost certainly, it only takes a small amount of dampness to cause this.

If you have aircon then leave it on.

I had this once. It was so bad I couldn't breathe without it misting up.

Totally blocked cabin filter.

You do know it's Winter?

And one of the things of winter is it being cold outside. And one of the reasons your windscreen condensates/mists up is called "PHYSICS" laugh

Unless it's sopping wet there's probably no real issue. What's it like in the summer?

Coolant level is fine, around 15k miles and used none. Not just damp, it's like a coating on the screen. I'm not new to driving, used to misted windows. You can wipe it off normally. It's like an oily coating. Wipe and it bubbles up like freshly waxed bodywork. Adds 5 minutes at least to my commute. The only way to cle3ar it is wait till the heater kicks in.

Might be a stupid question, but do you have your airflow set to circulate from outside? When I had my first car, it used to steam up all the time. Turns out I had the air flow set to circulate within the car. Doh!

Recirc is off, was on for a while till i realised the bulb had blown, delighted i thought i had found why. Unfortunately this wasn't the issue. It does have aircon, very rare option. Need a refill and lube though. May try and get it done. In my experience though this just delays it. Next time you get in its even worse. Fabric roof is treated regularly and is water tight, though is damp to touch.

Leave a bowl of uncooked rice or salt in the car - works on my damp shed of a Volvo.
