Most reviews of the Ford are very positive.
Most reviews of the Honda are luke-warm.
Seems like a simple decision.

(To be honest, the two are different tools for different jobs in my opinion.)

The honda really is a wet blanket of a car. A nice looking wet blanket mind.

Take the fiesta.

I do agree though, I have a honda and their main dealer service is pretty good. Then again nothing has really gone wrong with my civic.

I own a new fiesta ST, and wouldn't even consider swapping for a CR-Z even though I do like the looks too, only had it since the end of October but it's had no faults at all. If fuel consumption is a concern mine is currently averaging 38mpg with a 10 minute, 6 mile commute with a few longer motorway journeys.

I don't think they are really competitors. I would probably pick the CR-Z myself as it's quite an uncommon site on the roads and I think the Fiesta ST is a bit too Essex for me. However the ST is faster and better to drive so it depends what you value.

The only CR-Z worth buying is the Mugen one!

I have a CRZ and am swapping it for a Fiesta later this month. I can't comment on the ST version as I'll be getting the 1.0L 120 ecoboost version.

The CRZ is an acquired taste. It's certainly better looking than the Fiesta (people wander up to it for photos - they say it looks like the Batmobile) and better made. Reliability, there is no contest between the manufactures and I've found Honda dealers to be brilliant in terms of service.

Driving wise, if you're out of battery power the CRZ is slow and suffers the usual over-light Honda Steering. However, fully charged the car is fun to drive if not rapid. Winter causes the batteries to discharge much quicker and fuel economy suffers more. Over 38'000 miles, I've averaged 50mpg.

So why I am I swapping it for a Fiesta? Ecoboost Fiesta is road tax free unlike the CRZ, claimed economy is better 65mph versus 55mpg and performance is faster. With cheaper leasing costs a third of the CRZ, the choice was the Fiesta. I'll miss the CRZ though!

Only solution is to try them both. I love the looks of the CR-Z and hate the gopping front on the Fiesta, but unfortunately the Honda isn't really in with a shout unless it's made a lot more powerful.

Shame. I'd go for the Fiesta and try to avoid looking at it.

I'd likely go for the Honda largely because it's different to the norm (drivetrain and styling wise, not many 2+2 coupes nowadays) where as the Fiesta is still a supermini when all's said and done.
Depends how much the OP is swayed by having moar powaaah.

On the dealer front, I always found my Honda dealer exceptional, great service, nice people to chat to, reasonably priced.

Ford on the other hand, absolutely useless, don't know their arse from their elbow.

I currently own a Ford as it's a better car than the equivalent Honda regardless of dealer service - how much time do you spend in the car, compared to how long you spend in a dealership?

The Fiesta ST is a fantastic little car. I came exceptionally close to buying one a month ago and had quite a few drives. I loved it, I only decided against it as I cooled on the idea of PCP and. Opulent afford to buy it on HP.

The Honda is a great looking car and you have to admire the engineering, but if you can afford the ST then there's nothing as fun in its price range.

If you only care about looks and not performance, just get the Zetec-S instead of the ST and save yourself some money.

It depends what you want the car for really. If you need space then obviously Fiesta is the one to go for.

I have a Zetec S and it is a really fun car. I can only agree with you about the main dealer service though, I had issues at my main dealer when it was Polar and after it changed to Stoneacre.

Drive them both, if the ST has been made to drive even better than the ZS than it will be a VERY fun car!

To conclude, head and heart say Fiesta. The little devil on your shoulder will say CRZ. It's an individual choice that's very rewarding as a package on it's own.

I have had a new Fiesta ST since October and have done approx 2,500 miles in it so far. I absolutely love it. It seems to corner faster than my MK 1 Focus RS, although the RS is faster in a straight line. The heated Recaros are also a nice touch. As for MPG, forget about the claimed 47 MPG combined, I'm averaging about 35 over mainly A roads / Motorways.

The CR-Z surely has to be an example of a car being just a decent engine away from being brilliant. As it is the only things in its favour are looks and individuality - if those are what you're after then you'll probably be happy.

The new fiesta ST is a great little hot hatch. But im gonna say that as i sell them. Just wish we could get more as we cant get enough to sell at the moment. A few friends have purchased them from me and they love them too.

Feels like Honda could have cashed in on the love for the CRX...
