It was produced until 1970, so the last ones would have been H reg. A blue one was used in the television series George Gently.

How come all the buildings and cars in this image are derelict? Where is it?

The Corsair appears to have lost its rear bumper. Perhaps when it gained a towing hook? This does alter the appearance somewhat.

The BMC 1100 that is in front of the Vauxhall Victor appears to have lost its boot lid as well as the rear screen. Another Corsair is further up the road and there is a Rootes variant in front of the Ford Corsair

I had a Hillman Hunter.

pfffft you kids.

The one in the photo has the smatterings of a Humber to me for some reason.

ETA bumper over-riders - I knew there was something different from my Hunter.

I had a 1725 y'know. GL. Went like a battleship.

Is the white car with the red roof that looks like it's, literally, having a back-street respray a Mercedes 190 SL?

Looks very much like it to me. And I agree with the ongoing respray literally at the roadside. Oh the joys of cellulose! Has anyone ID'd he location yet?
