Porsche - Cayman vs. 911 pricing?

Hi all,

Just been looking on the Porsche website and compared the base 911 to the Cayman S - I didn't realise there was a £25k price gap (base).

It shocked me a little to be honest; the specs are almost identical, the Cayman looks better (IMO of course) - why so much extra? Just the rear seats? The 911 is 0.5s a lap faster around Tsukuba according to a Youtube video;

But still, £25k?

Does any body spec a base 911 any more? and people that think they would, or indeed have, can you tell me why?

The badge, mostly. The difference in manufacturing cost can't be more than a couple of thousand but people will pay the extra because it's called a 911.

The Cayman drives better than the basic 911, too.
