Now at the time to change my car .

Have got down to these two cars but witch one to get ?

I do about 5000 miles year have a works van so don't need to commute

Servicing costs and insurance is roughly the same .

But still can't decide .

Well i have both, my ST3 is fantastic as daily car. My RS is very aggressive and i don't think i could use it as a daily, so it depends on what you want the car for.

Is your rs standard as if I get the rs it will more than likely be taken to pumaspeed and have the stage 1 decat map etc

When I read the thread title my immediate reaction was to berate you for even considering the ST alongside the mk1 RS biggrin

However, I don't think it is actually quite so clear cut. The RS is certainly more special, rare, and in my opinion remains the best looking modern hot hatch. But the ST does have a great engine (although thirsty), is more refined and has a far superior interior in comparison with the RS. The ST is very common though, and just doesn't have any kind of "specialness" for want of a better term to it.

Personally, I'd plump for the RS.

(RS will hold onto its value better too.)

I think my main concern is the st is over a decade old now and as it will be just a weekend car the rawness would not bother me

At they reliable as long as there well maintained and are the parts expensive compared to a normal mk1 focus

No, but it will be slower to get there than a mass produced st

I have a mk1 RS 320bhp and it's my only car and I love it. At slow speeds you would never guess the power under your right foot it's great.

I love it and would recommend to anyone

On aide note to this, if you do end with either an RS or ST, there are many other tuners in the Ford scene that will offer better service than the company you have just mentioned.
