BTCC and PH media partnership
Three-year deal will see exclusive content on the site, plus more competitions for PHers

As part of a wider agreement with BTCC and Haymarket Consumer Media, we are pleased to announce the next three seasons of the championship will be covered in greater depth through PH. So there will be more news, features and blogs from us plus more competitions for you guys to win. The PH YouTube channel will also be populated with exclusive BTCC content. Keep an eye on Autocar and What Car? too for coverage.
Until 2016, the BTCC cars and podiums will feature the PH logos as well as those of the other Haymarket motoring publications. Of the agreement BTCC boss Alan Gow said: "We're delighted to be able to announce this partnership with Haymarket Consumer Media... this agreement not only enhances our relationship but also ensures that the BTCC will be covered in greater detail in the group's motoring titles."
Exciting times ahead then for British Touring Cars and PH. The 2014 championship kicks off at Brands Hatch on March 29/30; keep an eye out for more from the agreement as the season opener approaches.

Do PH (Haymarket) pay BTCC a chunk of money to have their logos on show and have access to the BTCC news etc, or do BTCC pay PH for the additional exposure they will receive from all the titles available from Haymarket?
Not trolling, just inquisitive as I don't see big benefits either way.
I just find the current format so uninspiring, even down to the level of sponsors that are on the cars - it shows that it's just such a 2-bit series nowadays.
No offence meant to Haymarket on that last as it should be good for both brands but the series has fallen a very long way over the last 20 years IMO

I went to Silverstone this year and, whilst I loved the supertourers, I thought the cars were exciting enough, definitely better than the S2000 cars. They seemed to be pretty quick too, and loud.
I'm not sure any touring car series is as exciting as V8 supercars, however.
In terms of the DTM, I think the cars are fantastic, but unfortunately the racing is quite boring.
I think people (myself included here) need to stop wishing BTCC could go back to the supertouring era and just appreciate what we have now, which is a decently supported series with decent racing.
I look forward to seeing what the tie up with PH brings!

h drama and death with potential future stars assuming money allows…. dont get too pissed with me PH but this is a poor move the BTCC doesnt deserve more coverage like cricket and rugby are also limp biscuit sports …what we need is murder ball with death rays and mutants ,a hunger games with big cars and balls that remain hairy … i want to see miley syrup get run over by a large pair of BALLS

Whatever came before, the BTCC is 7 hours of live motorsport shown on TV with almost no filler (unlike the F1 coverage), which is to be applauded.
The racing is actually pretty good to watch most of the time (apart from the Carrera Cup, I've seem more exciting trackdays than most of their races) and although the BTCC is no longer full of factory teams with paid drivers, the racing is close and there's plenty of drama (some real, some artificial but it's still racing and I still care who wins).
Would I like 'purer' racing? Of course I would, but I'll still watch what we have an enjoy it (apart from the Porsches, please Alan Gow, ditch the Porsches and show 30 minutes of tiddlywinks or something, it would be more exciting).
I am of the opinion that the BTCC has lost some of its glamour since the days of the super tourer's, the international drivers made it the best tin top series in the world, it seems abit to easy for an also ran's to get a car on the grid and drive round at the back week in week out.
What i would like to see is the 3 race format scrapped, lets go back to the shoot out pole qualifying sessions with the old sprint and feature race setup with a pit stop, it just made the action better. Maybe reverse the the top 10 for the feature race if we have to stick with it.
Although having said that the BTCC is still one of the best tin top series out there and for standing on the grass bank of a circuit in the rain theres nothing better to warm you up than these new NGTC cars, the noise and flames from the side exit exhausts are brilliant!!
