Anyone know what's going on in this field? it's next to the anticlockwise carriageway of the M25 just after J6 of the M25.

There are little fenced off areas dotted around, and some area with concrete pipes sticking up. It's been like that for a couple of years now. I can only think that maybe Super Mario owns it, and uses it for training... biggrin

I've been wondering this also!

I know that just a few miles west, where the new lakes have been dug, the guy digging them found that the area had been used for an illegal landfill.
Maybe the same happened here?

Head North along Flowers Lane and the road becomes Quarry Road. There's a fantastic number of underground Firestone/Hearthstone quarries/mines running west towards the A22 and the M23.

Check out The Wealden Cave and Mine Society: http://www.wcms.org.uk

I'm one of the members/tour guides. The mines are currently closed because of Bat Hibernation Season but will reopen at Easter.

I'm in Maidstone. I take a lot of tours underground in Godstone and Reigate, so if you ever need a trip with a photography friendly guide then let me know - I have keys. Digging in Godstone and might help with the NT dig at Fan Bay where they plan to turn it into an unrestored NT site open to visitors.

I was once told, that things like this were actually Nato Arms Dumps..

Arms Dumps would often have been served by a railway line in the wartime era. There were no major motorways to move vast quantities of munitions other than on A Roads that pass through towns and villages which was too risky. Google Corsham Central Ammunition Depot, Monkton Farleigh and for a bit of fun the Strategic Steam Reserve. The SSR always gets raised in pub lore - someones dad/grandad worked underground in the 70's/80's where there were hundreds of working steam engines stored.... biggrin

Do you have any info on Churchills bunker in Reigate Hill by the way?
