Afternoon people

Bought my self a y reg a4 tdi with 230k

no record of the belt being done, but took the cam belt cover off and I saw its a genuine Audi belt

I saw the part number then 12 07 13 spaced like this which i imagine is the date of manufacturer?

Obviously you cant always tell if the belts knackered but i saw no damage, threading or cracks

what do you lot think?

Change it if in any doubt. Visually checking a belt tells you naff all to be honest.

For me it would come down to cost / benefit.

How much would a belt change cost? How much is the car worth to you and how much would it be worth with a snapped belt?

I suspect with such high mileage that unless you can change it yourself it won't be worth doing but its only a decision you can make.
