Who's happy with their Amarok?

Had my Discovery 5 years and for more than one reason thinking of moving to a pick up.

Good idea?

Bad idea?

The Amarok in question is the all singing all dancing 180ps Auto. Best part of 30 grand.

Having driven a few pickups, unless you can't do without one I'd not even consider it.

I have had mine for 4 months.

Went for a 180 Auto Highline in toffee brown, after changing from the transporter.

I love driving it, I have done just over 10K so far with no problems.

Currently doing around 30 mpg and it's loaded up all of the time.

It's very refined and car like to drive.

Exactly the model & colour I am looking at. I'm slightly less hot about the idea today.....

Change of circumstances meant I came out of an Exige and into an Amarok just over two years ago!
Having had plenty of time in Navaras I new what pickups were like to live with. So long as your happy with the way pickups go (they all fundamentally have the same draw backs) the Amarok is the best of the bunch.

Went with a black highline with Nav and other bits un bobs, and its perfectly comfortable form of transport. Fitted a nice hadtop and a 'bedrug' which makes it far more versatile IMHO.

I have done over 40k miles now and the only costs have been one service and a set of tyres.

I thoroughly enjoy the ownership and appreciate it for what it is:
A very good tool, which can take a beating.
