Car wash have blown off paint lacquer
Discussion
Teaches me to letting them take their sand blasting / power washers to my car!
After a closer inspection it seems there is the start of some minor corrosion beneath the arch liner so it was only a matter of time, I suppose.
I'll have to ring the bodyshop, this will send my car OCD crazy

If the lacquer was damaged - either by a stone chip or what looks like the paint bubbling up due to rust - then the usual pressure washer at point blank range will take the lacquer off nicely.
High pressure water - albeit with stuff in it - is used to cut concrete & steel so what chance has your paint got?
I always advise nozzle no nearer than a metre when used on bodywork.
And yes, I did have an occasion when I forgot my own advice & took a palm sized piece of lacquer off the bonnet of my own car
