Hi Folks,

This may not be news to most of you but I've only just come across technical bulletin that says "from February 2014 the MOT test will incorporate a check to ensure that if a vehicle was produced and installed at manufacture with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) that this is still installed. If the DPF has been removed or by-passed the examiner will fail the vehicle and issue a failure certificate to the owner".

Apparently all OEM manufacturers have been asked by the SMMT and VOSA to provide a list of vehicles which were fitted with a DPF at manufacture.

The justification for this is that a vehicle with the DPF removed no longer meets the emission standards wich applied to it when new and contravenes the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) regulation 61-A.

I'm guessing with 7 posts in 90 months, he doesn't waste as much time on here as the rest of us.

He bothered to post up something useful - perhaps a simple 'thanks' is the best thing. hehe
