Hi,

Im looking to move into car sales on a small scale to start with which will mean starting from home.
I am in full time employment at the minute so would be buying/selling as and when i could.
If there is anyone experienced in the field and if so what are the -
a) First things i need to do register a car sales company
b) Financial/ tax implications and organisation i.e. business accounts etc
c) Licences or permits to be based at my home address

Would much appreciate any opinions or help on the matter.
Regards

As you are in full time employment i would be tempted to just sell few as a private seller first and see how you do, gauge interest, how many potential customers pass by etc, you don't have to register as a company, unless you plan to be limited.
Tax implications, well you will be liable for income tax on any profit you make on sales, unless its a private sale.
Only guessing but would you need planning permission for a car sales forecourt on your house. Someone else may know for sure.

But my opinion would be to just flog a few off your front for a while before getting to involved, if it looks like being a success then take things further.

Oh and don't rip anyone off, they know where you live.
